Don't Go In The House Night!!!

Holy Freakin' Crap! Got tickets for the GFT's DoubleBill of House Horror ce soir.....very much looking forward to seeing Wes Craven's 1972 debut classic "The Last House On The Left" which has finally been passed to be viewed uncut in this country. The star, David Hess, is also coming to do a Q+A afterward but i can't hang about as i will then be going to view the late night cult classic that is....."Faster Pussycat! Kill! Kill!" which is my favourite of all the Russ Meyer classics. Go-go dancing chicks take off on a murderous drag racing killing spree across California, with mega boobs, bonkers dialogue and fast cars....fuckin'yaldi!!! But before all of this there is Ti West's film "House Of The Devil" which is set in the 80's and takes in a full lunar eclipse and satanic ritual, proper teatime viewing no less.
So i am doing a TRIPLE BILL this evening and i can because it's my birthday weekend and i feel a bit like the character Clarence Worley in 'True Romance' except i ain't seeing a Sonny Chiba Triple Header, just strictly gore, more gore then some pure tits-oot violence. All play and no work makes stuey a happy boy....
Here is a multitude of original poster artwork for these flicks, i guess that's where most of the obsession for these films is with me, the artwork.....well, that and the crazy nostalgia i get for them, i remember always staying up late to try to watch these classics and many others. And why? Because being scared out your wits is fun and really they just don't make them like they used to.........HORROR ON!!!

I'm just wondering if going to the Lucio Fulci DoubleBill tomorrow would be excessive......5 twisted terror tales in the space of twenty-four hours? weird? sick? or just totally awesome? who knows.....just keep reminding yourself....it's only a movie, it's only a movie, it's only a movie.....

Brother's Gonna Work It Out.....

Yes folks, another wednesday can only mean one thing for sure....
Brother's McKurdistan working out on the old technics and really flexing our disco muscles.
Zaza is back from his mini tour of northern england with his band Woodenbox with a Fistful of Fivers....
This weeks beardy issue will have you leaping like a wee spring lamb as we step into warmer climes. Thank goodness the old Scottish winter seems to be slowly fading into a distant memory, it was actually warm today and our selection will reflect that. Hope the snow keeps dumping up north of course, can't beat those blue sky snowboarding days (last weeks Glencoe trip will be up here asap....)
Off for a sauna and swim before the ivy, i find it a rather lush way to relax.
Laters troops.

Every Wednesday 9-12pm@IVYbar, Argyle St, Glasgow.

black eyes are worth it.....

Lucian Freud's painting 'Self-Portrait With a Black Eye' sold last month for 2.8million pounds.
The painting itself has been largely unknown to the art world for the last 30 years since being painted by the artist after a fight with a cab driver in 1978. Awesome!
And in his own words; "I used to have a lot of fights. It wasn't because i liked fighting, it was really just that people said things to me which i felt the only reply was to hit them."
I love this man, what a legendary painter and so honest about his life and how things are sometimes.

backlogblog no.5

BATTLE ROYALE @GFT on friday night at 1045pm, another late night cult classic.
can't wait, hope to get the front row for ultra close gore. go see this on the big screen before it's memory is utterly abolished by the planned hollywood 2011 remake. i can't for the life of me understand how or why this would even be possible, but then, they will probably just cast Donny fucking Jepp and everyone will be happy as fuck and the original can be buried forever.
good night.
oh yeah, i found this 'love me tender' remake (if that's what you would call it) in a window of a newsagent on byres road a while back amongst a few other ads for flats and stuff. i like it for it's unabashed attitude and downright madness....got some good points too.
over and out.
tired as.

backlogblog no.4

another day, another dollar.
not really, just more unfinished drawings to keep working on.
big new plans for FOUNDSHOP@ivy, keep youse posted....closed for construction for the rest of january but will be back in february.

backlogblog no.3.....RIIIIICKY!!!

hello again, this is good this old blogging malarkey.
there was me thinking it was a total fucking waste of everyones time, but no, it really does mean something.
with that in mind.....
oi.oi. a picture of a dodgy old east end bloke in a swell golfing sweater (nothing on my collection of shit football hoodlum jumpers mate!)
and a kinda crucifix doodle from sometime in the last few months. nice. but not finished.
no correlation whatsoever between these. just cos....
getting bored yet? i am.

backlogblog no.2

like everyone else at this time of the year, i too am lying about getting fit.
here are some awful old images from my keep-fit book collection which inspire me greatly.
keeping fit is fun and really good for you but the way it was depicted in the 70's and 80's leaves you feeling....well, just weird. or maybe it was just the people that were around then?
who knows.
let's get physical.

backlogblog no.1

last year sometime whilst using a mcdonalds toilet i found this baby's bib on the ground.
i suddenly realised that for years they have been using stephen king's IT to sell burgers to kids.
for fuck's sake. creepy.
i hope i get in trouble for this because they really should for all the fat children having clown night terrors all around the world every night....
so i sat down outside and drew my own version, just in case they should ever get bored with freaky old ronald and need me to commission a new clown. it is pretty crappy but i really like clowns and will continue to work away at them until i get it right.

2010...a new begining.

hello and welcome to ifoundthisonthestreet blog thing.
i propose to use this forum as an image gallery of found things and drawings.
having been away from a laptop since new year here is a kinda backlogblog....
